Matt Keefer

I have been hunting for 22 years. I enjoy small game hunting, coyote hunting, and most of
all spring turkeys and whitetail deer. I primarily hunt deer with my bow and muzzle loader
and turkeys with my shotgun. I love the challenge of taking an animal with a weapon that
requires you to get the game in close without being detected. The largest turkey I have taken
to date was this past spring gobbler season. He weighed in at 21.5 pounds, had a 10 3/4 inch
beard and 1 1/4 spurs. My largest deer to date was a 9 point that I took off my family farm in
Pennsylvania. One of my other favorite past time’s is introducing other people to the sport of
hunting. The joy that comes from spending time with other people in the outdoors, teaching
them hunting techniques, safety, ethical hunting, and when it all comes together, seeing the look
on their face when they take their first animal.
