As a young man I was born and raised into a hunting family, by the age of one I was on my Father’s side or his back hunting or fishing whenever he could. As I grew older and began to understand hunting I knew one thing was for sure I wanted to be like my family and learn the ways of the outdoors and most of all learn to be a great woodsman and be able to read whitetail sign and track deer just like my father, At the age of 12 my father had been hunting one morning and he came home and got me and said are you ready son of course I answered YES. It was that day that I became an addicted whitetail hunter, that morning Dad taught me so many things, how to enjoy Gods creation, how to respect the outdoors, and how to track a whitetail deer and so much more, and before the morning was done we were standing over my first deer. Since then I have not forgotten the lessons learned that morning and I have had a burning passion to share what was taught to me with others who may not have had a dad or mentor like me to help them enjoy such an experience. I am by no means an expert hunter but what I do know is that for me it is most important to enjoy all that God has given us while we are out in the field enjoy the time with our family and friends and at the end of the hunt if you have been fortunate enough to harvest one of God’s creatures that is just an added bonus. Tracy Bird says it well in his song Pass It On, Remember What He Taught You and Pass It On.
